What is Amazon Prime Video?
Prime Video is a subscription-based video streaming service akin to Netflix, which lets its members watch all the content licensed or produced by Amazon. The size of the slate varies per region, depending on the rights already in place and those negotiated by Amazon.
Said rights also define how long a film or TV show is available on Prime Video, and if deals aren’t renewed, content disappears from the platform. The licensing deals also define how long you can keep something downloaded and watch it offline.
How to use Amazon Prime Video?
In addition to being available via any browser, Prime Video can be accessed using apps for several platforms. These include Android, iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Amazon Fire OS, Nvidia Shield devices, select Roku models, and select Samsung, Sony, LG, Philips, and Panasonic TVs and Blu-ray players.
Owing to Amazon’s rivalry with Google, Prime Video mobile apps don’t have support for Chromecast devices.
